New Management Development Centre
The Management Development Centre is an exciting new venture for Durham.
The new centre connects together many existing skills and knowledge of the staff from Durham Business School. Our main focus is to provide a bespoke solution to your organisational development opportunities or issues by personal development of your staff.
The Centre has developed a truly executive approach to management development, combining the style and interaction of a management development workshop with the ability for individuals to become academically and professionally qualified.
We provide accredited programmes up to Masters level, non accredited programmes, purely bespoke programmes and short courses, all of which you can find further details on our website.
The Masters level programmes offer an opportunity to develop your key staff using a bespoke approach - projects that are carried out by your managers for this qualification are business improvement projects for your organisation. This means they learn more about your organisation and in turn your organisation develops with them. Material used in the programmes can be sourced from your organisation rather than general case studies. Formica Ltd, a multinational organisation used this approach to develop a one-European view of their organisation by developing managers from all their sites together on one programme. Morris and Spottiswood the third largest fit out company in the UK developed their operational directors and top managers using this approach.
Purely bespoke, non accredited programmes focus directly on your organisation's opportunities or issues and are designed with you to meet your needs. Faulkner Brown Architects and Gibtelecom, the main provider of telecommunications in Gibraltar are examples of organisations that have benefited from being able to work with us to design a programme to suit their needs.
Our short courses are run as public programmes or in company and again can be tailored to meet your specific needs. These short courses would typically be: three days duration, residential, delivered at Durham Business School, on your premises or any worldwide location of your choice, run by facilitators who understand the material and understand business, designed for maximum participation, encourage immediate application of the knowledge into the workplace.
In summary, the Management Development Centre aims to improve your organisation performance, developing your staff by building a close relationship with its leaders. We welcome enquiries from any size organisation. For contact details and further information please visit our website at www.dur.ac.uk/dbs/mdc/md-programmes
