DBS Alumnus is 'on his metal'

Durham MBA alumnus Ananya Mukhopadhyay has been honoured with the prestigious “ArcelorMittal Quality and Productivity Award” of 2011.

Presented each year by the Associação Brasileira De Metalurgia, Materiais e Mineração, (Association of Brazilian Metallurgy, Materials and Minerals, ABM) the award is made to an individual who has made a significant contribution in the world steel industry.

Mr Mukhopadhyay received the award for the development of a new technology to enhance the quality and productivity of steels used in construction sector. His work titled, “Implementation of a New Technology for Quality Improvement and Productivity Enhancement of Long Products”, authored by Ananya Mukhopadhyay and Luigi Martino Galasso was presented in the 470 Seminário De Laminação Processos e Produtos Laminados e Revestidos (47th Rolling Seminar – Processes, Rolled and Coated Products) held during 26-29 October in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
