Core modules

The first stage of the Global MBA programme adopts an holistic approach to managing business relationships, both internal and external to the organisation. Seven core modules therefore provide a foundation of knowledge and understanding, presented in a thematic way, together with the applied research skills needed to complete a successful MBA Business Project.

All of our core modules are delivered online, pre-recorded lectures and e-learning activities being integrated with synchronous ‘webinars’ and full tutorial support.

Strategic Management

Examines how companies attempt different business and corporate strategies to achieve or maintain a competitive advantage to give you an in-depth understanding level of strategy formulation and implementation under conditions of changing industry competition, firm resources, and technology.

Managing People

Enables you to gain an insight into how modern organisations function, develop an understanding of the changing nature of management, and appreciate the contribution of Human Resource Management to organisational functioning.

Managing Finance

Introduces you to the main foundations of modern finance in the context of managing finance for value creation. Develops an understanding of the key concepts that underpin financial systems and markets, and gives insight into topical issues in the area.

Managing in the Competitive Environment

Explores the environmental pressures at work on organisations, how they can respond to these influences, and the management issues involved in aligning these forces. Specifically, the theme takes an integrated perspective of the operating environment of the organisation, covering strategy, marketing and operations.

Improving Management Decision-Making

Provides you with an in-depth understanding at an advanced level of the complexities of decision-making, and how decisions can be improved by specialist techniques such as decision analysis and scenario thinking.

Managing in the Global Environment

Enables you to develop a critical understanding of the impact of changes in the global business environment for managing in the national and international context.

Methods of Inquiry

Introduces you to the research skills and methods of inquiry necessary to undertake project work and management consultancy.
