The Global MBA

Online Information Session

Join us for an Online Information Session for postgraduate students on Wednesday 22 May 2013, 15:00-17.00 GMT. Find out more

Global business demands 24/7 flexibility. So if you work in this dynamic environment – and are planning to take your career to the next level – our personalised Global MBA programmes are for you, whatever your location.

Choose from three options:

  • Global MBA
  • Global MBA Online
  • Global MBA (Finance)

For those seeking a taste of the traditional Executive MBA experience but without the necessary time available to commit to full on-campus study, our standard Global MBA pathway allows you to combine online delivery with optional block-taught residential modules in Durham or Frankfurt. Alternatively, if classroom-based instruction is just not an option, the exact same MBA experience can be accessed via our state-of-the-art virtual learning environment though the Global MBA Online study route. Finally, for managers seeking to develop their careers within a financial function or institution, our specialist Global MBA (Finance) integrates a broad-based cross-functional curriculum with advanced-level training in accounting and financial management.

Learn how you want, where you want

The Global MBA offers exceptional flexibility, enabling you to tailor a programme that best suits your needs. You may opt for 100% online learning supported by online lectures, podcasts and state-of-the-art virtual learning resources. Alternatively, you may choose to attend electives at our annual Summer School.

You will benefit from having a Personal Tutor for each module.

A world of opportunities

The international nature of the Global MBA encourages the sharing of new ideas and perspectives at every level. We extend this even further by offering you the opportunity to take part in an international field trip which gives you the chance to experience real life business challenges in a country such as China, France or South Africa.

Connected to business

The Business Project offers the opportunity to connect with real business issues. Some students choose a project related to their existing company; others opt for working with a completely new regional, national or international organisation.

We also offer a careers support service for all postgraduate students – including phone consultations and access to extensive online resources – whether the aim is to develop your existing career or change direction. Face-to-face appointments during the Durham Summer School are another useful option – easily arranged by emailing our consultants in advance.

Our alumni network is there to help you extend your professional contacts further – both during and after your course.

Triple accreditation

We are proud to be one of only a few UK business schools to hold triple accreditation: AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), AMBA (Association of MBAs) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System). Together these demonstrate the exceptional standards of the School and its programmes.

About the programme

Students can study for the Global MBA and Global MBA (Finance) working to a three-year study plan.

Whichever route you choose, our Induction programme will equip you with the study skills you will need.

The Global MBA consists of seven core modules plus five electives that enable you to build either a broad-based or specialised portfolio. It also features a 15,000-word dissertation or business project of your choice.

At all stages we are here to help you achieve your goals and ambitions – offering excellent support and professional development opportunities both ‘virtually’ and at our annual Summer School.
