Entry and Application
Rigorous entry standards and targeted recruitment mean that we are able to create MBA cohorts with exceptional talent, experience and potential, drawn from all parts of the world and from all business sectors.
The Durham MBA programmes have the following entry criteria:
- A minimum of three (preferably five) years' relevant work experience since graduation of a managerial nature. Applicants may also be asked to offer a satisfactory score in the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), or equivalent.
- A good degree or equivalent professional qualification*
- Additionally, candidates whose first language is not English will normally be required to demonstrate evidence of proficiency in English language as follows: a recent English language test score of 7.0 or above in IELTS with no element below 6.0, or 102 or above in TOEFL IBT with no element below 23
* Lack of formal qualifications is not necessarily a barrier to admission; managerial experience is also a key consideration for entry to our MBA Programme. In such cases, we may ask you to submit a portfolio of evidence demonstrating capability in areas such as your management experience, including critical thinking skills and communication skills.
The Programme Director will review all applications for evidence of meeting the entry criteria.
If you would like to talk to someone about your qualifications and/or managerial experience please do not hesitate to contact us.

Interviews
We encourage all applicants who pass the initial review stage of the application process, to attend an interview at Durham. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your choice, and see the school and city. We hold several MBA preview events when interviews can also be arranged. See the full schedule and book a place online.
For more information, please contact pg.bus@durham.ac.uk.
For applicants who are unable to attend a face-to-face interview, we can arrange for an interview to take place via Skype or the telephone, and inform you by email of the exact time and date.
Come and meet us
We are holding an MBA open event on 23 May 2013, and will be at recruitment fairs worldwide in the coming months.
