Biography

Anthony Garnett is the Head of Business Assurance.

Anthony is graduate from Durham University with a first degree in politics and an MBA awarded with distinction. Prior to joining the University Anthony qualified as a chartered accountant at KPMG LLP. Anthony is also a qualified chartered internal auditor and IT auditor. Currently Anthony is studying for a PhD in the field of strategic marketing.

Anthony is experienced in directing and managing both internal and financial statements audit services to a range of public and private sector organisations. He also has significant risk management, government funding and consultancy expertise. He holds the Government Internal Audit Certificate (GIAC) and is PRINCE2 accredited.

Anthony has in prior years represented the sector's auditors as the national chairperson of CHEIA (The Council of Higher Education Internal Auditors - the representative professional body for HEI internal auditors).
