Our first meeting will be held in St Cuthbert's (Parsons Field) bar at 7.30pm on Sunday 11th October. Please note that the St Cuthbert's Parsons Field accommodation is located near the University Health Centre and the bar is right next to reception. For a map please see the directions page.

10.09.2008 Durham University representing Great Britain in the 4th World University Bridge Championship finished in 15th place. I've added photos to my Facebook account and they will appear on the website in due course.

01.09.2008 The Durham team (James Ewington, Robin Zigmond, Dom Maloney, Tom Dessain and John Probst (NPC)) travel to Poland tomorrow to compete in the World University Championships. Results should be available here

14.06.2008 Bridge Day was held last Sautrday, Phil writes about the Malicious Toilet Demon which looked after the movement while everone was drinking. The day after many of us travelled to Darlington to play in the Hurworth Bridge Event. It seems in the pairs event at least the previous day was taking its toll, well done to Paul and Neil who were the leading university pair. In the teams Phil, Robin, Dom and Tom managed to pull themselves together and won with their score of 77 imps.

03.06.2008 [UPDATED] Well done to Clare, Robin, Eve and James who won the B flight of the Championship Teams at the Yorkshire Congress. Additionally congratulations to Clare and Robin who were the leading non-expert pair in the Championships Pairs and to Eve and James who finished third in the Plate Final. 28.04.2008Durham A have won the Portland Bowl! Congratulations to Robin Zigmond, James Ewington, Dominic Maloney and Tom Dessain.

03.04.2008 Double victory for Dessain brothers in the England Junior Pairs Championships! The Under 25s was won by Dominic Maloney partnering Tom Dessain and the Under 19 category was won by Liam Jones and Mark Dessain. A brief report about one board from the event can be found here.

02.03.2008 Durham A won their quarter final Portland Bowl match against Edinburgh B yesterday. Thanks a lot to James for driving us there and back in the day! Consequently we qualify for the finals weekend which will be played at the Portland Club in London at the beginning of Easter term!

18.02.2008 The BLUNEY pages have been updated with reports and a matrix of results from round 2. This BLUNEY also saw for the first time an Edinburgh team competing, they have written a short report on their website which can be found here. Congratulations to Edinburgh who won this leg and to Durham A who have overtaken the Harrogate team to take the overall lead with one leg to go.

18.02.2008 The Durham B team of Rosa, Steve, Neil and Steve recently played their round 2 Portland Bowl match against the Edinburgh A team. The match was quite tight with a net score of -22 imps over the 32 boards. In particular I'd like to give Rosa and Steve a mention because they joined the Bridge Club at the beginning of this academic year having not played bridge before and to have got where they are today is fantastic, well done!
