What is WATCH?

Watch is the junior and youth section of the Royal Society for Nature Conservation and its associated County Wildlife trusts. It is the wildlife and environmental club for youngsters and their families. Meetings are run by volunteers and activities are aimed at children from 5 years  and upwards. Older children are most welcome on their own but those under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Parents are responsible for their children before and after the meeting.

Please bring warm clothing and suitable footwear for the advertised event.

The emphasis is on fun!

We learn lots of things about wildlife, do conservation work around the gardens, join in national surveys, visit wild and wonderful places and enjoy ourselves.

What does it cost?

We ask for a 50p donation at each meeting , this goes towards postage and buying resources.

Where and when can you join us?

Meetings start off in the Greenhouse at the Botanic Garden. We meet there at 10am then after registration either do an activity in there or something in the Botanic Garden. The meetings last for 2 hours and at the end of the meeting we return to the greenhouse. Meetings are normally the 2nd Saturday of the month, but we don't have a meeting in August. Sometimes we also meet at a site of interest away from the Botanic Garden, please see below for details.
