Bird Hide
Here is a summary of birds seen and recorded in the bird hide record book for 2004
- Blackbird - All year round
- Blue tit - All year round, especially winter. The most common bird seen at the hide
- Great tit - All year round, especially winter, very common
- Coal tit - All year round, especially winter, quite common
- Bullfinch - All year round, especially summer, not that common
- Chaffinch - These were very common at the hide in the spring, but the sightings have declined over the year
- Greenfinch - Seen autumn-winter, fairly common
- Sparrow - Mainly spotted in the summer months
- Robin - All year round, especially early spring, very common
- Great spotted woodpecker - Fairly common, the sightings have increased over the year
- Wren - Fairly common, the sightings have increased over the year
- Pheasant - All year round, especially in summer, quite commonly seen in larger numbers (6+)
- Jay - Fairly common (especially summer)
- Magpie - Fairly common (especially summer)
- Moor hen - Fairly common all year round
- Long-tailed tit - Has been seen occasionally in the spring
- Duck (mallard) - Has been seen occasionally in the spring
- Kestrel - Has been seen occasionally in the spring
- Wood pigeon - Fairly common (especially summer)
- Goldfinch - Not that common but has been seen occasionally
- Starling - Not that common but has been seen occasionally
- Siskin - Not that common but has been seen spring-summer
- Gold crest - A rare sight for us but they have been seen in the depths of winter
- Sparrow hawk - Rare, but has been seen
