Entry requirements

The standard entry requirements for Biological Sciences and Biomedical Sciences degree programmes are three A-levels, two of which must be in a science, and one of which must be in Biology,  Chemistry or Human Biology.

A-level typical offer is AAA

Applicants studying International Baccalaureate should take at least two sciences as Higher Level subjects, at least  one of which should be biology or chemistry.

IB typical offer  is 37 points with a minimum score of 6 in all higher level  subjects

Two AS levels are not accepted as equivalent to an A level. General Studies is not accepted as an A-level. Candidates should have good grades in dual science and mathematics GCSE or their equivalents.

We also welcome applications from mature students who may have had a break in their studies, or have studied on kite-marked Access courses. Applicants lacking necessary qualifications can progress to our honours degrees via a Foundation programme.
