Microscopy is an indispensable tool in cell and molecular biology as well as research in tissue organisation and development. Recently it has also become a sophisticated and complex science in itself. This MSc (Research) provides the opportunity to gain in depth understanding of the principles and practice of various advanced microscopy methods and apply them to specific research. Projects will use methods, such as live cell imaging, 3D confocal microscopy and electron microscopy to answer questions about organisation and dynamics of cell architecture. We have particular interests in cytoskeletal dynamics, nuclear architecture and membrane dynamics and how they are involved in cellular processes, communication and development. Skills and knowledge gained will provide a strong platform into advanced areas of research in both academia and industry as well as a thorough training in sort after methods.
