Research Report 1999

The Centre celebrated the 99th anniversary of Bunting's birth with a poetry reading by Martin Corless-Smith and Peter Finch (in association with Colpitts Poetry) and with a lecture on Bunting given by Richard Caddel to the Literary and Philosophical Society in Newcastle. In June the Centre contributed a poetry reading to the Durham Literature Festival by Maggie O'Sullivan and Bill Griffiths (with support from New Writing North and Waterstone's Bookshop). Dr Collecott gave a paper at the International Ezra Pound Conference in Beijing. Richard Caddel gave a paper at the third SubVoicive Symposium, London University, and was guest reader at the first UK ASLE meeting at Bretton Hall in Yorkshire.
