Society Obs Logs

We met outside the physics department at half 9. Unfortunatly we were embraced by the clouds for a second obs session. This resulted us going to trevs bar in which we stayed for the evening chatting, socialising, eating some cake and getting excited for our trip to the national space centre on tuesday :D

While many people headed home shortly after 11, those of us with a little more faith in the skies were rewarded with a fabulous -8 Iridium Flare just after 11.30, viewed from Trevs back lawn!

Although most of the sky was covered with cloud, the WSW direction we desired had much thinner layers, and the incredibly bright satellite flare was easily visible and lit up a little of the surrounding cloud rather nicely!
