Welcome to Durham University Astronomical Society

The Leonid Meteor Shower
Sunday, 15 November 2009

Between the hours of midnight and dawn are the best times to see the Leonids. Credit: NASA

Even-though our Leonids Obs was cancelled due to the weather, they will still be active and visible for the next few days.
So if you get a chance, find somewhere comfortable to sit and look up.

A Word From The President
Friday, 18 September 2009

A new term is nearly upon us, and it should be an exciting term for AstroSoc.

This will be our first Michaelmas term with the recently acquired Dobsonian telescope; by far our best telescope. That means a host of new targets for us to hunt.

If you're coming up to Durham for the first time, be sure to check us out at the freshers fair. By then we'll be able to tell you when the first session of term will be, then we just have to do the clear sky dance.

Everyone enjoy the last two weeks of your holiday. See you all soon.

Dave
