Record Test Tube Babies in Pakistan - 'Pakistan Times' Wire Service

The pioneer of test-tube-baby in Pakistan renowned Gynaecologist and Obstetrician Prof Dr. Rashid Latif Khan has set a new record in the medical history of the country by completing more than 1000 test tube babies.
Addressing a press conference here on the occasion of silver jubilee of LIFE (Lahore Institute of Fertility and Endocrinology), he said that over 1000 mothers have so far given birth to test tube babies which also includes twins, triplets and quadruplets through IVF (Invitro- Fertilization) treatment at LIFE since 1989. It was a record not only in the medical history of in Pakistan but also in the Asian countries, he said and added that all out efforts were made first to guide and treat the couples to produce the baby in a natural way otherwise they were treated step by step through IVF procedures. Dr. Rashid Latif Khan said that IVF treatment is cheap in Pakistan as compared to all the developed countries - around the globe.
