Dr Colin Crowder

Title:
Deputy Head of the Faculty of Arts of Humanities
Director of Combined Honours in Arts and Social Sciences

Supplementary information:
I deputise for the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and my specific areas of responsibility include undergraduate admissions, postgraduate funding, and the promotion of departmental research opportunities and postgraduate programmes.  I am a member of the Faculty Board, Faculty Research Committee, and Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee, and I represent the Faculty on a number of university committees or advisory groups, including those responsible for IT Strategy, Web Strategy, admissions, and honorary degrees.  I also chair the Web Marketing Group, and manage the University’s AHRC Block Grant Partnership for postgraduate studentships.  With the other Deputy Heads of the Faculty, I chair appointing panels, process concessions and appeals, and work with the departments, the other faculties, and the university administration on a broad range of issues.

I am also the Director of Combined Honours in Arts and Social Sciences and a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Theology and Religion, in which I have taught modules in the philosophy of religion, contemporary theology, atheism in the modern world, and religion and film.  Click here to visit my Theology & Religion department profile.
