Olympic Torch

The Olympic Flame comes to Durham University’s Racecourse

16th June 2012, 17:00 to 19:30, Durham University Racecourse (access from Green Lane/Old Elvet entrance)

Join us for a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate the Olympic Flame coming to Durham City.
Everyone is invited to celebrate this momentous occasion with a free family-friendly evening of live performances and celebrations, including music by local Indie-rock trio Little Comets and performances by Gala Theatre Stage School and Deerness Gymnastics Academy.
BBC One Show and Countryfile host, Matt Baker, will be amongst the torchbearers on the day, with the lighting of the Celebration Cauldron taking place at 6.50pm.
