French Research Seminar: 'Le Théâtre de la Révolution française' by Professor Pierre Frantz [Paris-Sorbonne]

Professor Frantz is one of the foremost specialists of eighteenth-century French theatre. In addition to his influential study L'Esthétique du tableau dans le théâtre du XVIIIe siècle (1998), Professor Frantz has published extensively on such figures as Marivaux, Diderot, Beaumarchais, Sade and Talma. His work is especially attentive to the political and ideological implications of the text and its performance.
Please note that this paper will be given in French. All are very welcome.
