Early Anglo-Saxon Settlement Patterns in Northeastern England

Abstract

My research will investigate if previous Roman influence affected Anglo-Saxon settlement patterns within Northumbria. 
Using spatial analysis in GIS, I will compare two areas that were located within and outside of the extent of the Roman empire to determine the affect of the empire on the development of early Anglo-Saxon communities.
