Activity 15: Student Feedback
| Activity name | 15. Student Feedback | |
|---|---|---|
| Participants | LeedsMet (Mentors) Durham and Newcastle |
Aims Covered: 1 |
| Timescales | July 06 - Sept 07 | |
| Background | One key element of student support is feedback on their progress and understanding. Much of the group- and individual project-work is focused on the practical activities associated with designing and developing a product. Students need, however, to acquire and apply underpinning knowledge and techniques. This activity seeks to provide students with opportunities to engage in simulation exercises in which they can observe the effect of their application in a simulated game. A key element of this activity is fun and interaction. | |
| Activity | Work here will create a project management simulation in which students will have the opportunity to read and understand specific scenarios describing a project. They will be able to devise a project plan controlled by key parameters. By manipulating the parameters, students will see the potential impacts such changes have on the successful completion of the project. Levels of difficulty can be introduced by incorporating random changes to the parameters with consequent unforeseen impact. | |
