  • James Gate was a postgraduate student supervised by Iain Stewart, and was awarded his PhD in 2012. He left to work as a Software Developer for Kelvin Connect in Glasgow.
  • Daniel Allsop, Aidan Chalk and Alan Heppenstall studied for MSc by Research degrees with ACiD in 2011/12. Daniel now works as a Software Developer for ScottLogic, Aidan is a PhD student in Durham studying GPU computing, and Alan is developing his own business supported by Imagine K12.
  • Artem Pyatkin was a postdoctoral researcher in Durham until June 2012. He left to take up a position at Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Novosibirsk Akademgorodok in Russia.
  • Viresh Patel was a postdoctoral researcher in Durham until Summer 2012. He now works as researcher at the University of Birmingham.
  • Barnaby Martin was a postdoctoral researcher in Durham until July 2012. He left to take up a lectureship at Middlesex University.
  • Petr Golovach was a postdoctoral researcher in Durham until Summer 2012. He is now a researcher at the University of Bergen in Norway.
  • Mahmoud Maqableh was a postgraduate student supervised by Stefan Dantchev. He was awarded his PhD in 2012 and took up a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Jordan.
  • Jeremy Kemp was an MSc by Research student in 2010/11. He now works as a GPU programmer.
  • Yonghong Xiang was both a postgraduate student and then postdoctoral researcher in Durham. He left in early 2012 for Beijing, China to work for China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation where he leads a research and development group focused on image processing and parallel computing for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
  • Ross Kang was a postdoctoral researcher in Durham until January 2012. He left to be a Veni Postdoctoral Fellow at CWI Amsterdam and is now an Assistant Professor in Utrecht.
  • Lars Nagel was a postgraduate student supervised by Tom Friedetzky. He was awarded his PhD in 2011. He is now a Postdoc at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
  • Hajo Broersma was a Professor in Durham until December 2010. He is now working at the University of Twente.
  • Berndt Muller was a postdoctoral researcher and teaching fellow in Durham until September 2010. He is now a Senior Lecturer at the University of Glamorgan.
  • Pim van 't Hof was a postgraduate student supervised by Daniel Paulusma. He was awarded his PhD in 2010. He is now a Postdoc at the Algorithms Research Group at the University of Bergen, Norway
  • Luke Mathieson was a postgraduate student supervised by Stefan Szeider. He was awarded his PhD in 2009. He is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Macquarie University, Australia.
  • Mark Rhodes was a postgraduate student and teaching fellow in Durham. He was awarded his PhD in 2009. He now works as a Software Developer for ScottLogic.
  • Stefan Szeider was a Reader in Durham until October 2009. He now works at the Vienna University of Technology.
  • Catarina Carvalho was a research associate in Durham until September 2008. She is now a lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire.
  • Marko Samer was a research associate in Durham until September 2008. He left to work in the Formal Methods in Systems Engineering Group at TU Darmstadt, Germany.
  • Florent Madelaine was a research associate in Durham until 2007. He is now a lecturer at the University of Auvergne.
