Quality Management
Durham University's Quality Management Framework is a multi-functional framework that both assures academic standards and quality, and facilitates the enhancement of academic quality. Responsibility for academic standards and quality rests with Senate, and the Academic Support Office works with the chair of Education Committee, and colleagues in faculties and departments/schools, to support the development and implementation of the Framework.
ASO is therefore responsible for managing:
- the University's annual (taught programmes and research degrees), periodic and thematic review processes;
- curriculum development (module and programme approval);
- the University's external examiner system;
- the processes for approving, monitoring and reviewing collaborative partnerships.
