Programme Development

All amendments to existing programmes, such as changes to the programme regulations, or requests for programme withdrawals or suspensions, should be sent to the Academic Support Office for approval by the chair of the relevant Faculty Education Committee.

All documentation relating to changes that will take effect in October 2012 must be received by ASO by the following dates:

  • Undergraduate: all documentation to be received by ASO no later than 23 January 2011
  • Postgraduate: all documentation to be received by ASO no later than 19 March 2011

Proposed amendments that will involve other institutions (which includes other universities, and organisations that are not HEis) must go through the University's processes for approving collaborative partnerships. When considering developing proposals for collaborative partnerships, departments should contact the Assistant Registrar for the relevant faculty in the first instance:

New Programmes

All proposals for both undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes must go through the University's new programme approval process. The two-stage programme approval process allows departments to demonstrate both the academic and financial viability of their proposals.

Full details on the new programme approval process can be found in the Learning and Teaching Handbook Section 3.3
