A collection of papers covering virtually all aspects of teaching and learning at a basic level, and including materials on clusterings of disciplines. Very useful to dip into for specific topics.

Ramsden, P. (2003) Learning to Teach. 2nd Ed. London: RoutledgeFalmer

Classic text, based on premise that, if the purpose of teaching is to enable students to learn, then teachers need first to know how their students learn and then teach and assess accordingly. Combines scholarship with practical relevance and is highly readable.
