Vice-Chancellor and Warden
The Vice-Chancellor is the equivalent of a chief executive officer in a substantial company. He is responsible for co-ordinating the management of the resources which the University needs to operate. He also provides leadership in developing strategies for academic performance, business and community links and the other activities of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor chairs Senate, the academic 'parliament' of the University and key committees, and is also the principal representative of the University in the wider world. Durham University's Vice-Chancellor is Professor Christopher F Higgins .
