Chapel, College of St Hild and St Bede
The large and imposing College Chapel was constructed in 1939 in the then College of the Venerable Bede in celebration of its centenary as a Church of England teacher training school. The chapel was designed by Seeley & Paget who were leading art-deco and church architects during the mid-twentieth century. In the summer of 2007 it was granted Grade II listed status in honour of its architectural and historic importance.
