Chad's students participate in almost every sport imaginable and play on both University and College teams.

Our rugby team was top of their division in 2005, and they were promoted to the premiereship this year. During their recent tour in the Czech Republic, they played against a number of teams, including the Czech national team.  The Women's rugby club (new in 2004) is recruiting extremely well.

The College is perhaps best known for its rowing club, which has been in existence for almost a hundred years. The College owns a considerable stretch of the River Wear and has a large number of boats and its own boat house. Though a quarter of the size of the larger colleges, St Chad's were Durham Regatta Champions in 2001 and 2005.

The College has a gym, which is well equipped with ergo machines, exercise bikes and weights.

There are a number of skiing and boarding enthusiasts in College, not to mention a small skiing/boarding website that keeps people's interest up in the warmer months.

Whether you're into cricket, football, badminton, rugby, basketball, darts, or even if you just want to keep fit, you'll find fellow enthusiasts at St Chad's.
