Submission Guidelines
- Papers should include
an abstract of approximately 150 words.
- Papers should be word
processed in Microsoft Word format.
- Papers should not exceed
6000 words.
- Papers should usually be a minimum of 2000 words.
- Times New Roman 12 font is preferred.
- The name and address of
the author should NOT appear on the essay.
- A cover sheet should be included with the author's name & contact details.

are preferred and should be sent to:

Formatting
Requirements
- Internal notation
should be used rather than footnotes or
endnotes.
- Notation should be by name, publication date and page number, e.g. (Wollheim
1980, p. 1).
- The bibliography should
appear at the end of the paper.
- The bibliography should be set out in alphabetical and chronological order.
Once papers have been accepted
authors will be required to format their papers to conform

Feedback
Please note that the review stage is broken
down into two stages.
In the first stage the managing editors determine whether the submission is
of
sufficient quality to be passed on to the editorial board. Submissions that
do not make it
past this initial stage will not receive detailed feedback. Those who do make
it past the first
stage will only recieve feedback if it takes the editor longer than two months
to reach a decision.
Copyright
Contributions become the copyright of
Philosophical Writings, unless agreed other-
wise by specific agreement. If you have
any queries concerning copyright, please
contact the Editors.
Proofs
Authors may be sent proofs if there is
sufficient time to do so; they should be
corrected and returned to the editors.
Major alterations to the text will
not normally
be accepted. The editors retain the right to make minor alterations
to the text
when necessary.
Off Prints
Upon publication authors will receive
a PDF version of their article. Copies of the issue
can be purchased for £7 plus postage and packaging. Click here for an order form.
Postal Submissions
Postal submissions must include two copies of the paper.
Postal submissions must be accompanied by an electronic version of the paper.
