The BIG Theatre Social 2007
Sunday, October 7th - Midday
We will start in the Gala Theatre, (see http://www.galadurham.co.uk/company/Map.html for directions) at midday with a brief presentation about Durham Student Theatre, the Durham Drama Festival, the freshers' play and upcoming plays and auditions.
At 1.30 pm, we will move to the Varsity bar (on the Bailey) for finger food, drinks and your chance to have your questions answered by the assembled directors, writers, producers, and company heads. The DST exec will also be on hand to answer any more general questions about Durham theatre. Whether you're a budding actor, director, writer, producer, critic or stage-hand, this is simply the best way to jump right into the Durham theatre world.
Finally, at 3 pm there will be a tour of the Assembly Rooms theatre, currently being rennovated, and a workshop on 'auditioning in Durham', led by DST President Oliver King. Come along to pick up a few acting techniques and learn what to expect from the average Durham audition. It might even be fun.
